THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE MARCH 28, 8:30 AM TRIP FROM ODESSA TO BUCHAREST. BUS VN6349TK Neorlan I’d also like to thank the drivers. They were neat, friendly, and welcoming; they behaved politely and cracked jokes that were spot-on! They took the time to address any concerns each passenger might have. At every stop, they announced how long it would last and whether passengers could get off. They handled the luggage well. They explained everything regarding the border crossing and counted the passengers after every stop. They drove quickly and carefully. The bus itself was comfortable and clean. Since there weren’t that many people, we could sit in two seats each; overall, I was satisfied with this trip. Thank you.

Rules for entering Romania for Ukrainians: list of documents and requirements
Romania remains one of the closest and most convenient EU countries for Ukrainians, both for short trips and for transit, temporary protection, or further movement to another country. But it is precisely because of the accessibility of the route that confusion often arises: the same people are simultaneously looking for information about visa-free travel, documents for crossing the border, rules for children, men, pets, and temporary protection. Because of this, it is easy to come across advice on the Internet that mixes up different residence regimes or is already outdated. In this article, we divide all the scenarios correctly. We separately explain when Ukrainians do not need a visa to Romania, what documents are needed for a short entry, what they can actually ask for at the border, what customs rules apply when entering the EU from Ukraine, how to prepare for a bus or car trip, and what changes if a person is traveling not as a tourist, but to apply for temporary protection. Updated: as of 04/22/2026. The material was prepared using official sources from Romania, the EU and international organizations, including the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs , Romanian Border Police , the list of supporting documents from the Border Police , the official portal Dopomoha , UNHCR Romania , Your Europe and EU rules for traveling with animals . Before traveling, it is worth checking the updates on official websites again, as border and migration procedures may be subject to change.

Required documents for traveling by bus abroad
Traveling by bus abroad remains one of the most practical formats for those who value route flexibility, affordable prices, and the ability to get to the desired city without transfers. But the comfort of the trip depends not only on the ticket, schedule, or luggage. The most important thing is to prepare the documents correctly and check the requirements of the country you are traveling to in advance. One of the main mistakes travelers make is to perceive border crossing as a standard procedure with the same rules for all destinations. In fact, the requirements vary depending on the country of destination, the purpose of the trip, the length of stay, the passenger's age, the presence of children or pets, and for men aged 18-60, also on the rules for leaving Ukraine during martial law. That is why it is important not only to have a passport and ticket before the trip, but also to clearly understand which documents may be requested at the Ukrainian border, which ones - at the entrance to another state, and which ones - already during your stay abroad. This article contains a practical and extremely careful checklist of documents for an international bus trip. We will analyze how to cross the border by bus, what documents to prepare for adults, what to consider when traveling with children, what rules apply to men aged 18-60, what is required for traveling with pets, and what customs restrictions most often cause delays. At the end, there will be a separate block with guidelines for specific countries - Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria. Updated: as of 04/22/2026. Before traveling, always check the official rules on the websites of the State Border Service of Ukraine , the State Migration Service of Ukraine , Your Europe , the official EU page on traveling with animals , the official EU section on alcohol, tobacco and cash , and the EU rules on importing products .
